Dinozombies are powerful skeletal dinosaur enemies that first appear in Final Fantasy IV.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy IV[edit]
In Final Fantasy IV, Dinozombies have a red dragon-like skeletal body and appear to be surrounded by orbs of fire. Dinozombies are only encountered on floors B4-B7 of the final dungeon, Lunar Subterrane. On floor B5, there is a Dinozombie who guards a treasure chest which contains a Crystal Helm. The party must fight the Dinozombie in order to obtain the item. Dinozombies are weak to Fire and Holy attacks, despite appearing to be invulnerable to the former, and have the ability to use Curse.
In the original Super Nintendo and PlayStation versions, they are named D. Fossil.
Final Fantasy V[edit]
Dinozombies exclusively appear in the remakes of Final Fantasy V, starting with Final Fantasy V Advance, as they are only found in the Sealed Temple. Dinozombies were given a noticeably different appearance in which they have a light blue body and a skeletal structure similar to that of a Tyrannosaurus rex. A Dinozombie can use two enemy abilities: Bone, which deals heavy damage to one party member, or Poison Breath, which poisons every party member.
Final Fantasy VI[edit]
Similar to Final Fantasy V, Dinozombies only appear in the remakes of Final Fantasy VI, starting with Final Fantasy VI Advance. Dinozombies were redesigned once more to resemble their in-game relatives. Dinozombies can be distinguished from their bright, red body. They are encountered in the Dragons' Den, and can use three enemy abilities: Dread Gaze, Crypt Dust, and Blaze.
