Titan is a powerful giant and a summon in the Final Fantasy games. It first appears in Final Fantasy III. Titan's signature attack is Gaia's Wrath (sometimes called Earthen Fury), which deals earth-elemental damage to enemies.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy III[edit]
Titan acts as both a boss and a Level 5 summon spell. As a boss, Titan is the guardian of the Earth Crystal in the center of the Ancients' Maze, near the end of the game. As a summon spell available from either Doga's Village or Replito, he can be called upon by the Summoner, Evoker, and Sage jobs for various Earth-elemental abilities.
Final Fantasy IV[edit]
Titan first appears to a grieving Rydia as she seeks revenge for the death of her mother, creating a massive rift in the earth that blockades Mist and separates Cecil Harvey and Kain Highwind, after which Cecil must pick up the unconscious Rydia and continue on his quest. Titan is later one of Rydia's five default summons when she returns as an adult, and deals Earth-elemental damage to targets not buffed by the Float status.
Final Fantasy V[edit]
Titan is a boss encountered during the search for the four meteors that crash-landed on Bartz's World. His defeat gives up the spell-item needed for his Level 3 magic.
Final Fantasy VI[edit]
Replaced by Midgardsormr (aka Terrato).
Final Fantasy VII[edit]
Titan is a Summon Materia, and is the fifth crystal obtained by Cloud's party as part of an optional quest. To get it, the player must participate in the cutscene at the Gongaga mako reactor that was destroyed prior to the story. Scarlet will be looking for Huge Materia in this area, only to be angered when she finds none. She throws the crystal she does find back into the rubble, at which point Cloud must search for it. The player should not leave until Titan is picked up, else it will be missed.
Final Fantasy VIII[edit]
Replaced by the Brothers.
Final Fantasy IX[edit]
Titan is heavily implied to be working in concert with Fenrir, as his fist can be seen smashing the enemy field during summoning. Fenrir is obtained by Eiko upon equipping a Sapphire, which can easily be acquired on the Conde Petie Mountain Path before Part 4, Fenrir's power increases with the.number of Sapphires in reserve.
Final Fantasy XIV[edit]
Titan is the primal worshiped by the Kobold tribes. He can be challenged as part of an optional quest.
Final Fantasy XVI[edit]

In Final Fantasy XVI, Titan is an Eikon whose Dominant is Hugo Kupka. Titan is the Eikon of Earth. Hugo first primes Titan to do battle with the Iron Kingdom's Eikon, Shiva. The resulting clash ends in a stalemate, only causing widespread destruction on the battlefield. Hugo primes Titan again after his men attacked Cid's Hideaway to destroy it.
