Zombie Dragon, known as Dragon Zombies in some games, are undead dragon enemies which appear in several Final Fantasy games. They first appear in Final Fantasy. Like other undead enemies, Zombie Dragons are vulnerable to Holy and Fire spells. In most games they are red, but are sometimes depicted as green.

Final Fantasy[edit]

In Final Fantasy, they are named Dragon Zombies (or ZombieD in the original Nintendo Entertainment System version). The Warriors of Light first encounter Dragon Zombies in the Citadel of Trials (floor 3F), where they guard a treasure chest with a Rat's Tail. Dragon Zombies also appear in Chaos Shrine during the past, in floors 2F, 3F, and B4. Starting with Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, Dragon Zombies also appear in the Lifespring Grotto, within Dark Bahamut's chamber. Zombie Dragons are weak to both Dia and Fire but are resistant to several spells.

Final Fantasy VI[edit]

In Final Fantasy VI, Zombie Dragons are only encountered at the Cave to the Sealed Gate. In the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and PlayStation versions, they are named Zombone. During a battle, there is a chance of a Zombie Dragon using Bone on a party member, causing them to be inflicted with the Zombie status.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper[edit]

The various incarnations of Zombie Dragon appear in Final Fantasy Record Keeper.

From August 22 to September 5, 2019, there was an event titled "Dreams - Dragon Zombie", in which players could fight a Dragon Zombie from Final Fantasy as a boss in the Dreams Event Dungeon. Because it is a boss, the Zombie Dragon has much higher stats than in Final Fantasy.
