Garulas are light green mammoth-like creatues that are covered in brown wool. They have appeared as both enemies and a boss. Garulas first appear in Final Fantasy V.

Final Fantasy V[edit]
In Final Fantasy V, Garulas are enemies whom the party can encounter in the forest surrounding Walse Tower in Bartz's World and later in a certain forest of the Merged World. There is a non-hostile Garula in the village of Walse. A little girl is standing near the Garula. If the party talks to the little girl, she tells them that the Garula is shy and requests them not to tease it.
As enemies, despite their intimidating appearance, Garulas do not attack the party. They have several elemental weaknesses, such as Fire and Lightning, and always flee on the third turn. Garulas are one of the few enemies that neither reward experience points nor gil when defeated.
In the Walse Tower, there is a Garula who is fought as a boss. It looks identical to its enemy counterpart, although it has different stats, a separate bestiary entry, no weaknesses, and is of the Magic Beast type. Like ordinary Garulas, experience points and gil are not rewarded for defeating the Garula boss.
