The Antidote is a recurring item in the Final Fantasy franchise, and it debuts in the first Final Fantasy game. Antidotes are can cure any party member that has been poisoned. Antidotes are among the most common items in most of their appearances. They have the same use as the White Magic spell Poisona.

Final Fantasy[edit]

In Final Fantasy, Antidotes can be bought at certain Item Shops for 50 gil and sold for 25 gil. In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version and the PlayStation remake's Hard Mode, they can be bought for 75 gil and sold for 37 gil. Antidotes are also found in a few treasure chests, and are sometimes dropped by certain enemies. In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version, they are named PURE, which is also the name of Poisona in the game.

Ways to obtain an Antidote
Item Shops: Cornelia, Pravoka, Elfheim
Treasure chests: Matoya's Cave, Marsh Cave (B3), Cavern of Earth (B1), Mount Gulg (B2, B4), Sunken Shrine (B5)
Enemies: Desertpedes, Gloom Widows, Pythons, Warg Wolves
Other: Antidotes are among the rewards for completing the hidden minigame, 15 Puzzle.

Final Fantasy II[edit]

In Final Fantasy II, Antidotes are found in more Item Shops than in the first game. They can still be found within certain treasure chests, and are sometimes dropped by certain enemies. In the original Famicom release and the PlayStation remake's Hard Mode, Antidotes have a much higher price of 200 gil, and can be sold for 100 gil. In the PlayStation remake's Easy Mode and subsequent remakes, the price was significantly reduced to 30 gil, even lower than in Final Fantasy and its remakes, and can be sold for 15 gil.

Treasure chests: Snow Cavern (B2), Kashuan Keep (5F), Castle Deist (1F), Coliseum (B2)
Enemies: Death Flowers, Poison Toads, Queen Bees, Soldiers, Soul Eaters, Vampire Thorns
Other: Antidotes are among the rewards for completing the hidden minigame, Concentration.
