The Flame Sword is a sword imbued with the element of fire. It appears in a few of the earlier Final Fantasy games, starting with Final Fantasy. In later games, the Flame Sword was replaced with the Flametongue. Any enemies vulnerable to fire take twice as much damage from the Flame Sword. Its blade is usually depicted as being a red-orange color, matching the color of fire.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy series[edit]
Final Fantasy[edit]
In Final Fantasy, the Flame Sword is found in a treasure chest on floor B2 of the Cavern of Ice. It can be used by the Knight, Ninja, Red Mage, Red Wizard, and Warrior. The Flame Sword can be sold for 5,000 gil.
In the original Nintendo Entertainment System release, the Flame Sword is known in-game as FLAME.
