The Zephyr Cape (Japanese: そよかぜのマント), originally named the Zephyr Cloak, is a cloak that grants its wearer a small amount of Defense but a larger increase in Evasion. It appears in a couple of Final Fantasy games, and first appears in Final Fantasy VI.
Game appearances[edit]
Final Fantasy VI[edit]
In Final Fantasy VI, the Zephyr Cloak is a relic that increases its wearer's Evasion and Magic Evasion by ten points. It can either be bought at Nikeah's Armor Shop for 7,000 gil or it can be won in the Auction House, but only in the World of Ruin. A Zephyr Cloak can also be found in a treasure chest in the Magitek Research Facility and another in the Zone Eater's Belly.
Final Fantasy XI[edit]
In Final Fantasy XI, the Zephyr Cloak has been revised into a spell called Zephyr Mantle, which has the same effect as Blink.
Final Fantasy remakes[edit]
The Zephyr Cape only appears in Final Fantasy remakes, starting with the Game Boy Advance version, because it is only obtainable in the exclusive dungeon, Whisperwind Cove. There are two ways to obtain a Zephyr Cloak: by purchasing it for 51,600 gil at the Armor Shop randomly located between floors B21-B29 or by obtaining it from a treasure chest on floor B35. The Zephyr Cape can be equipped by any character except Monk and his upgraded class Master.
The Zephyr Cape increases Defense by 4, Weight by 1, and Evasion by 10, like in Final Fantasy VI.
Dissidia Final Fantasy[edit]
In Dissidia Final Fantasy, the Zephyr Cape is one of the Basic pieces of armor, the Zephyr Cape that allows the player to grant the ability, Bravery Boost, and Dodge by 3%.
