The Protect Ring usually protects its wearer from Death. They are usually rare and valuable items that cost a lot wherever they are sold, usually in Armor Shops.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy[edit]
In Final Fantasy, Protect Rings are rare and expensive items that are sold in Gaia's and Whisperwind Cove (mage village)'s Armor Shops, and they can also be found in three treasure chests: two in Flying Fortress (1F and 3F respectively) and one in past Chaos Shrine (floor B2). The Protect Ring can be bought for 16,000 gil and sold for 8,000 gil. They can be equipped by any character. In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version and the PlayStation version's Normal mode, Protect Rings cost 20,000 gil and can be sold for 10,000 gil. Furthermore, their name is formatted ProRing in the original Nintendo Entertainment System version.
