- Not to be confused with Kactuar, which is translated as "Cactuar" in Final Fantasy VII.
Cactuars (also translated Cactrot or Cactuer) are a species of cactus that appear in several Final Fantasy games, starting with their debut in Final Fantasy VI. They have a distinctive appearance of two eyes, an oblong mouth, three spikes on their head, and stiff appendages in the shape of a running pose. Cactuars often appear as enemies, although they sometimes appear as a summon or an ally. Their signature ability is 1000 Needles.
A Cactuar appears as a playable character in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix.
