Wolves are canine enemies that appear throughout the Final Fantasy series. They first appeared in Final Fantasy. Depending on the game, they are depicted as either yellow or orange.

Final Fantasy[edit]
In Final Fantasy, Wolves are encountered around the world map, often in groups. They are found in the surrounding areas of Cornelia, Pravoka, Elfheim, Marsh Cave, Mount Duergar, Melmond, and the Cavern of Ice. They are also found in present-day Chaos Shrine, the Devil's Tail, and the Southern Marsh.
In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version, their name is capitalized WOLF, and their sprite is orange. In the MSX2 version, their sprite is entirely yellow. In the WonderSwan Color and Final Fantasy Origins versions, they have a gray head and legs, but their back and tail is orange. In Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, their sprite was brightened to a more gold color. In the PlayStation Portable version, Wolves had their back changed to yellow with added spikes.
