Steel Bats are purple bat enemies which appear in some Final Fantasy games. Their first and main appearance is in Final Fantasy V. Steel Bats have a stronger green variant named Mercury Bats.
Game appearances
Final Fantasy V
In Final Fantasy V, Steel Bats only appear in the Pirates' Hideout. They are among the weakest enemies in the game. Despite this, they have 10,000 MP. During a battle, Steel Bats attack by either using Vampire, in which they sap HP from a party member, or Claw.
