Minotaurs are enemies that appear in several Final Fantasy games. They are muscular beasts which are half-man and half-bull. Minotaurs first appear in Final Fantasy. They are often found in subterranean areas. They have a different design and color throughout most of their appearances.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy[edit]
In Final Fantasy, Minotaurs are purple. They are found in five places: Cavern of Earth (floors B1 and B2), the area surrounding Crescent Lake, Mount Gulg (floors B1, B4, B5), Ryukahn Desert, and Southern Marsh. A Minotaur may drop a Knife if defeated.
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest[edit]
In Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, there is a Minotaur who is fought as a boss in the Level Forest. It wears a skirt-like clothing made of wood and two metal bands on each arm. Minotaur carries around its own axe (although the guide calls it a sword).
In Level Forest, as Benjamin and Kaeli are journeying through, Kaeli uses her Axe to cut down trees in the way. She eventually chops a glowing tree, only to discover that it is the Minotaur in disguise. The Minotaur angrily inflicts poison upon Kaeli, and a battle starts. In the battle, Minotaur has two damaged sprites; its first sprite shows its left horn missing, but as Minotaur takes further damage, its second sprite is shown, in which much of its armor is missing.
