The Antidote is a recurring item in the Final Fantasy franchise, and it debuts in the first Final Fantasy game. Antidotes are can cure any party member that has been poisoned. Antidotes are among the most common items in most of their appearances. They have the same use as the White Magic spell Poisona.
History
Final Fantasy
In Final Fantasy, Antidotes can be bought at certain Item Shops for 50 gil and sold for 25 gil. In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version and the PlayStation remake's Hard Mode, they can be bought for 75 gil and sold for 37 gil. Antidotes are also found in a few treasure chests, and are sometimes dropped by certain enemies. In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version, they are named PURE, which is also the name of Poisona in the game.
