Flamehounds are enemies that first appear in Final Fantasy IV. They are canine beasts made of fire, and they attack by using either the Flame or Scorch ability.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy IV[edit]
In Final Fantasy IV, a Flamehound is encountered as a monster-in-a-box at the Tower of Zot. More are encountered at the Tower of Babil and the area surrounding Eblan on the world map, either by themselves or in a group. Like other fire-based enemies, Flamehounds absorb any fire-based attacks. They are weak to ice-based attacks but resistant to Mini and Toad.
Flamehound was originally named FlameDog in the Super Nintendo and PlayStation remakes and Fiery Hound in Final Fantasy IV Advance.
