Flamehounds are enemies that first appear in Final Fantasy IV. They are canine beasts made of fire, and they attack by using either the Flame or Scorch ability.

Final Fantasy IV[edit]
In Final Fantasy IV, a Flamehound is encountered as a monster-in-a-box at the Tower of Zot. More are encountered at the Tower of Babil and the area surrounding Eblan on the world map, either by themselves or in a group. Like other fire-based enemies, Flamehounds absorb any fire-based attacks. They are weak to ice-based attacks but resistant to Mini and Toad.
Flamehound was originally named FlameDog in the Super Nintendo and PlayStation remakes and Fiery Hound in Final Fantasy IV Advance.
