Behemoth
Template:Image Behemoths are large beasts that appear in many Final Fantasy games, and they first appear in Final Fantasy II. Behemoths are powerful enemies, and are usually one of the strongest enemies in each of its appearances. Behemoths are found in the final area.
In many of their appearances, a Behemoth is a large, purple beast that uses its horns and lightning magic to kill its opponents. Depending on the game, Behemoths are either quadrupedal or bipedal; if a Behemoth is the latter, it often carries a weapon with it. In most cases, if a party member uses a magic spell on a Behemoth, it strikes back with a powerful spell such as Flare or Meteor. Behemoths have an even stronger counterpart named King Behemoth.
History
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
In Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, contrary to most games, a Behemoth is fought in the very first battle and serves as the first boss. Benjamin fights it on the Hill of Destiny.
