The game involves using the touch screen in sync with various pieces of music from the series. A sequel, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, was released in 2014. A third Theatrhythm game was released in 2015, Theatrhythm Dragon Quest, although it instead features Dragon Quest characters. An arcade game, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: All-Star Carnival, was released in 2016.
