Cloud using Omnislash Ver. 5 against Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Omnislash Ver. 5 (超究武神覇斬ver.5 lit. Super Extreme Martial God Supreme Slash Version 5?), also formatted Omnislash Version 5, is a stronger variation of Omnislash, one of the moves used by Cloud. It first appears in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

History[edit]

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children[edit]

In Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Omnislash Ver. 5 is the finishing move that Cloud uses on Sephiroth. After his original Omnislash fails, Cloud uses Omnislash Ver. 5, in which the Fusion Swords are separated into individual blades, and Cloud attacks Sephiroth once with each sword.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, starting with version 10.1.0, Cloud can perform Omnislash Ver. 5 as his Final Smash instead of the Omnislash if he is wearing a costume based on his Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children design. The use of Omnislash Ver. 5 is recreated after the scene in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children where Cloud uses it. In the Move List, Omnislash has been renamed to "Omnislash / Omnislash Ver. 5" to reflect it being added.

When Cloud uses Omnislash Ver. 5, he knocks his opponent into the air. His Fusion Sword (which Cloud wields instead of the Buster Sword if he is wearing his Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children costume) splits into six blades; five blades circle around Cloud and one above his opponent. Cloud then grabs each circling sword, striking his opponent in quick succession before slamming them into the ground with the blade above. As the move finishes, Cloud is surrounded by the swords for a moment before they recombine into the Fusion Sword.
