Gigantoads are a poisonous variant of Toads in the Final Fantasy series. They first appear in Final Fantasy II. Their physical appearance usually differs drastically between each of their appearances.

Game appearances

Final Fantasy IV

In Final Fantasy IV, Gigantoads are yellow and have blue stripes on their back and two on each leg. They have a blue tongue and a blue diamond-shaped marking on their forehead. They were originally known as CaveToad but have been renamed to Gigantoad since Final Fantasy IV Advance. They are only encountered in the Underground Waterway.

Gigantoad's sprite is almost entirely consistent throughout Final Fantasy IV, its re-releases, and its 3D remake. In Final Fantasy IV Advance, Gigantoads' sprite is less bright and shaded differently than in earlier versions.
