A few probably-unimportant questions[edit]

I'll be honest, with this page undergoing an overhaul and such at the moment I'm a little intimidated to try to contribute to that, but thought I might as well ask these few things I was wondering nonetheless!

  1. Name differences should logically be mentioned on the monsters' own pages, but should stats that are different between versions (HP being the most frequent change) be noted here? I feel that would be information worth having and can't think of a better place to put it, but would hate to see the statblocks get too cluttered and all.
  2. Should a monster's family (undead, aquatic, etc.) be included? While weapon effects were bugged on the NES and so most of those do nothing, they've been part of the enemies' traits since the original and function properly in later versions. They've historically not been mentioned in the bestiary, but the Pixel Remaster version does list them under the heading "Type". That said, Pixel Remaster changed a few of those, too (like removing the giant type from goblins), which goes back to my first question.
  3. Should the rates of dropped items be included? This information is never shown to the player, but is pretty easily accessible looking at a Dawn of Souls ROM in a hex editor and all, since it's a fairly well-documented game, especially on the FF1 side.
  4. Is it worth renaming the "Spells" heading to account for other enemy abilities, too? (and on that note, should basic enemy attacks with a chance of afflicting status conditions be noted anywhere here, or just on the enemy's page?)
  5. Every version of FF1 has called the stat "Intelligence" up until the Pixel Remaster version which goes with "Intellect" for consistency in terminology with the other five entries. Should that be changed here? On the one hand, "defer to the most recent release" seems logical, but on the other, you get things like FF4PR jumping back to the GBA script rather than using Tom Slattery's names for things from the DS version that were adopted by the PSP version and TAY (e.g. the Feymarch is back to being called the "Land of Summons") so that seems like a poor precedent to set.

and then I had a sixth question but forgot what it was in the process of writing the other five, I'll update if I remember, sorry xD --Zeal (talk) 20:20, February 12, 2022 (UTC)

Hello Zeal :) I'll give my responses:
  1. We'll use images and stats based on the latest release. We can use the {{hover}} template where necessary for older releases. For example: <nowiki>24. This makes: 24 (this is just an example I gave.
  2. Yes they should be included.
  3. Also, yes include dropped items rates as well.
  4. Yeah this is also probably a good idea
  5. Change to Intellect and, as per my first point, use the Hover template to note the old name: Intellect. Results May Vary (talk) 21:05, February 12, 2022 (UTC)

Enemies sharing a name[edit]

I sort of arbitrarily guessed what I should do for the Four Fiends' refights, feel free to correct it! Is there any standard I should use going forward? On that note, I want to upload the PSP sprites for the remake-exclusive enemies, is there a naming scheme I should use for the files of Scarmiglione and Chronodia, since they have different forms with the same name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zeal (talkcontribs)

Yes upload PSP sprites for the remake-exclusive enemies. Also perhaps use numbering (e.g. Chronodia FF PSP sprite 2.png) Results May Vary (talk) 04:09, February 22, 2022 (UTC)
