Freelancer (Final Fantasy V)
The Freelancer is the starting Job of Final Fantasy V and is what every party member starts as.
Gameplay
The Freelancer has an even 24 in all four stats and cannot gain Job levels with ability points, but has two empty ability slots instead of one. The Freelancer gains power by mastery of other classes, gaining stat boosts and innate abilities, which further boost stats or allow new options like dual wielding without having to select the specific ability. The abilities are Cover, Barehanded, Counter, Find Passages, Sprint, Vigilance, Learning, Magic Shell, First Strike, Dual-Wield, Light Step, Shiradori and Pharmacology, from the Knight, Monk, Thief, Blue Mage, Mystic Knight, Ninja, Geomancer, Samurai, and Chemist respectively [1].
