Help:Userpages

From Final Fantasy Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Your user page is a space you can edit and show others who you are, your likes and dislikes, and so forth. Every registered user has a user page, and there is a lot of liberty on what one can place on it. This guide will help you understand and hopefully inspire you on what you can add to your user page, as well as warn about what cannot be placed on there. Note that not all the ideas on this page have to be there.

Each user has their own user page, which can be used for any purpose, although content that violates copyright laws, pornographic, includes excessive advertising, promotes illegal activities, or hate speech is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

Infoboxes[edit]

Insert your chosen character image here.

On the right, you see a personal infobox. It is a quick and easy way for you to display the most essential information about yourself to other users. Feel free to add different colors, other types of information, and whatever you'd like. It functions just like a table, simply off-center. As you become more familiar with wiki markup, you may choose to make it more complicated, such as adding background colors, borders, and more.

Preferences/Favorites[edit]

If you want to give a more detailed description of what Final Fantasy games, characters, music, etc. you like the best, you may use the following tables to do so.

If you want to organize your favorites into a numerical list, you may want to consider using lists. For example:

Top three games[edit]

  1. Final Fantasy VII
  2. Final Fantasy IV
  3. Final Fantasy X

To save time while making a numbered list, insert this sign (#) at the beginning of each line.

If you would rather creates a bulleted list, here's how to do it - suppose the title of your list is "Favorites" :

Favorites[edit]

To make a bulleted list, all you have to do is insert an asterisk (*) at the beginning of each line.

Talk bubbles[edit]

Talk bubbles are a means of communicating, and are popular for their various forms of customization. Many people like to display all the different talk bubbles they've had during their time on the Final Fantasy Wiki in a sort of "display section" on their userpage. If you have any questions about how to create one, see our frequently asked questions page.

To create a talk bubble, type:
{{Talk bubble|time=~~~~~|text=what you want to say.}}

Posting notices[edit]

If you need to place a notice on your userpage to inform others of something - say, your absence, a celebration or whatever it may be, you can try the following code:

<div class="usermessage">This is a test message.</div>

and the result will be this:

This is a test message.

Be sure to place this code on the top of your userpage if you wish to notify other users of anything.

Userboxes[edit]

Userboxes are colored boxes, communicative notices that let you tell others about you, your browser settings, and your in-game preferences and achievements. To find out how to make a userbox section on your userpage, and to see a list of userboxes available, check out Final Fantasy Wiki:Userboxes.
