- September 23, 2021: A sequel to Chocobo Racing, titled, Chocobo GP, has been revealed in a Nintendo Direct. The game is slated for a release sometime in 2022.
- September 8, 2021: Final Fantasy IV has been released as a part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection.
- July 28, 2021: The first three games of the Final Fantasy series were released as part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection for iOS, Android, and Steam. Consequently, some earlier versions were removed from the app stores.
