- July 28, 2021: The first three games of the Final Fantasy series were released as part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection for iOS, Android, and Steam. Consequently, some earlier versions were removed from the app stores.
- June 13, 2021: At Square Enix's E3 2021 show, two new titles, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, a remastered collection of the first six games, have been unveiled. A trailer for Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier was also shown.
- June 10, 2021: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been released for the PlayStation 5 worldwide.
