In most games, Potions are the most basic recovery items and are more effective earlier on in the game, before characters encounter stronger enemies or their HP increases from leveling up.

There are some variants of potions, such as the Hi-Potion, X-Potion, and the Mega-Potion, which restore more HP and are generally more accessible in later parts of the games.
