Final Fantasy III is the third installment of the Final Fantasy series. It was developed and published by Square and originally released for the Famicom, exclusively in Japan. The third Final Fantasy installment that was released in North America is the sixth overall installment, Final Fantasy VI, and to reflect this, the game was originally titled Final Fantasy III in North America.
