Active Dimension Battle (often abbreviated to ADB) is a combat system that appears in Final Fantasy XII. It replaces the random encounters in earlier Final Fantasy games of the main series, instead allowing players to view the location of nearby enemies on the game map, therefore allowing one to move around the landscape during battles, or to avoid battles altogether.

Active Dimension Battle allows players to switch between the Active Time Battle and Conditional Turn-Based Battle system at will.
