History
Final Fantasy VIII
- "A type of bat with a huge mouth. Lurks in dark places. Dives quickly from the air to bite its target."
- —Scan description
In Final Fantasy VIII, Red Bats are one of the first enemies encountered. They are one of the weakest enemies, and can usually be defeated from one hit. Red Bats are encountered in the Fire Cavern and the Deling City Sewer. Red Bats are weak to Wind-elemental attacks but are unaffected by Earth-elemental attacks because of their ability to fly. Red Bats are also unaffected by the Blind and Float statuses.
