When he is first introduced, he leads [[Firion]], [[Guy]], [[Maria]] and [[Minwu]] into [[Semmit Falls]] to find silver that is needed to make armor for the [[Wild Rose Rebellion]]. Later, when Hilda informs the team that they must obtain the Goddess's Bell, he joins the team and leads them through the Snow Cavern. After successfully defeating one of the emperor's henchmen there, a trap is sprung and a giant boulder was hurled towards the heroes. Josef sacrifices himself by holding the boulder off just long enough to let the others escape, but it is too much for him and crushes him. | When he is first introduced, he leads [[Firion]], [[Guy]], [[Maria]] and [[Minwu]] into [[Semmit Falls]] to find silver that is needed to make armor for the [[Wild Rose Rebellion]].
