| | Final Fantasy VII Remake is an action RPG video game based on the original Final Fantasy VII. Releasing episodically with the first installment released on April 10, 2020 on 4. The game delves deeper into the world with overall more content and fleshing out what was present in the original game. However, this game is not a 1-to-1 remake of the original. Some aspects are intentionally different to keep both new and old fans on their toes, with the storyline eventually becoming only vaguely similar to its source material. |

| Final Fantasy VII Remake is a 2020 video game and the first part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. Remake is a reimagining of Final Fantasy VII boasting a story that gradually diverges from the source material, with several aspects either expanded or changed; a revamped battle system; high-definition graphics; and a heavily re-arranged soundtrack.

| Final Fantasy VII Remake features a real-time battle system based on the original game's Active Time Battle mechanics. Party members have two ATB segments, which fill up slowly and must be charged faster by attacking enemies or blocking most enemy attacks. ATB segments may be spent on commands such as physical attacks, magic spells, or support items; either selected from the Tactical Mode menu or from the quick-access "shortcut" function. Enemies have a secondary "stagger" meter under their HP bar, which incapacitates them and causes them to take bonus damage for a period of time when filled. Enemies may be "pressured" under certain conditions, causing their stagger meter to fill faster.

| The Limit Break system returns, allowing characters to perform powerful attacks when the Limit bar is charged. The materia system is also present with several newly-added functions. Weapons can be customized with passive abilities, stat boosts or additional materia slots.
