Pixel Remaster
On July 28, 2021, the first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games were released, including Final Fantasy. These games, initially released for PC and mobile, were designed to be modern re-renditions of the original releases and therefore lacked many optional content added in newer versions of the games - in particular, all of the new equipment and dungeons from the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary editions were removed. The Pixel Remaster of Final Fantasy (and the other five games in the series) were later released on the Playstation 4 and the Nintendo Switch on April 19, 2023 with a host of additional quality of life features.
