Flans are a recurring gelatinous species of enemies in the Final Fantasy franchise, and they make their debut appearance in the first Final Fantasy. Flans are usually depicted with a round body, but in some games, they more closely resemble a puddle. Flans have large eyes and a large mouth that give off a menacing appearance. In several of their appearances, Flans are highly resistant to physical attacks, but are weak to certain elemental attacks. Many Flan variants do not have "Flan" in their name, and is instead substituted by a similar word such as "Pudding," "Bavarois," or "Mousse."
