'''Black Widows''' are basic spider enemies that appear in ''[[Final Fantasy]]''. Although real world {{wp|black widows}} are poisonous, these ones do not [[poison]] their opponents. Black Widows are encountered in present-day [[Chaos Shrine]] and floors B1–B3 of [[Marsh Cave]]. In the [[Nintendo Entertainment System]] version, Black Widows were named '''SPIDER''' and were dark green. In the [[MSX2]] version, they have a blue sprite. The [[WonderSwan Color]] version is the first that introduces them with a black body and red stripes, which suggests that they were a generic spider in the first two versions.
