White Shark, named GrSHARK (short for Grey Shark[1]) in the original Nintendo Entertainment System release, is a variant of Shark who appears as an enemy in the first game, Final Fantasy. They appear in the Sunken Shrine (1F-4F) and in Chaos Shrine during the past (floor B3). They are named after the real world species of great white sharks.

Despite their name, White Sharks have never been depicted as white (or gray if counting their original name). In the original Nintendo Entertainment System version, White Sharks are light blue, later changed to dark purple in the PlayStation release. In the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls release, White Sharks have a light purple body. Their PlayStation Portable sprite was made darker but still lighter than in the PlayStation version. In Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, White Sharks have a light blue body.
