The WonderSwan Color

The WonderSwan Color is a handheld created by Bandai and the successor to the original WonderSwan. It was the late competitor to the Game Boy Color and had graphics comparable to the Game Boy Advance. The WonderSwan Color was exclusively released in Japan on December 9, 2000.

As part of a deal with Bandai, Squaresoft remade three Final Fantasy games for the WonderSwan Color—Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy IV. A Final Fantasy III remake was planned but later canceled. The Final Fantasy games helped contribute to the WonderSwan Color's popularity in Japan, especially because Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II respectively made the first and second best-selling games for the system.[1] Some WonderSwan Colors were bundled with either Final Fantasy or Final Fantasy II.
