Slimes are a variant of Flans which first appear in Final Fantasy III. Slimes mainly appear in later titles, as the successor of Green Slimes, although in many of their appearances, Slimes are green themselves.
History[edit]
Final Fantasy III[edit]
In Final Fantasy III, Slimes are encountered on certain areas of the Floating Continent map. Slimes are weak to Fire-elemental attacks. Their original Famicom sprite is similar to Green Slimes' Final Fantasy II sprite, although Slimes are not covering their body and their eyes are light blue. This appearance was mostly kept intact for the 3D remake, although Slimes were given long, pointed ears.
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light[edit]
In Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Slimes have a blue body and a depressed look on their face. Their eyes are a dull yellowish-brown color.
Bravely Default[edit]
In Bravely Default, Slimes retain their appearance from Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.
