Lucrecia Crescent is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy VII. She was once a scientist working on the Jenova Project along with Gast and Hojo. Flashbacks imply that she was at one time romantically involved with Vincent Valentine, then a member of the Turks.  However, she eventually rejected Vincent and entered a relationship with the insane Hojo.  Lucrecia became pregnant, and Hojo used her (apparently with her consent) as an experiment subject, injecting her with Jenova cells.  She subsequently gave birth to Sephiroth, but the child was taken away without Lucrecia even being allowed to hold him.  Thereafter, due to the Jenova cells in her body Lucrecia was unable to truly die, and she lingered on in the Crystal Cave until the events of Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII.
