Keycards are a type of key item in Final Fantasy VII. They are used by Shinra Headquarters employees to access the 60th–70th floors of the building. As Cloud and his party infiltrate the headquarters, they obtain keycards to open locked doors on the highest floors. When President Shinra imprisons the party on floor 67, they lose their keycards and cannot obtain them again.
As a security measure, Shinra Headquarters has at least five different types of keycards that are given to employees based on their role. Each keycard has a number for the highest floor it can unlock doors of.
