Jack Garland is a playable character in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and the game's primary protagonist, designed by Tetsuya Nomura. He is a blue-eyed man with fair skin, cropped dirty blonde hair, a blonde stubble and a short scar running across his nose. In his promotional render, Jack wears all black with a buttoned tunic, trousers with a knot at the waist, leather combat boots, and fingerless gloves. His wrists are taped under the gloves.
Described as a "stranger", Jack is a ruthless man with a single-minded devotion to defeating the dark monster Chaos. In combat, he wields a variety of weapons such as broadswords; daggers; and maces; and often finishes enemies off in brutal and violent fashion.
Concept and creation
Jack was created out of a concept by Tetsuya Nomura for a spin-off series about an older, angrier version of Final Fantasy villain Garland.
