Final Fantasy X is the tenth game in the main Final Fantasy series. It was originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001 in Japan and in 2002 in other regions. In 2003, the game received a direct sequel, Final Fantasy X-2, making it the first Final Fantasy game to have one.

The game takes place in Spira, and it revolves around a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging monster known as Sin. The player character is Tidus, who finds himself in Spira after Sin destroyed his home city of Zanarkand.

Setting

The game takes place in the world of Spira, which is made up of practicioners of the church of Yevon, a religion that practices self-sacrifice to a monster named Sin, created by their god Yu Yevon as punishment for devastating the world using Machina. In opposite of them are the Al-Bhed, a race of machina engineers who do not believe in the teachings of Yevon and are condemned.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster

Final Fantasy X would receive an HD remake and compiled with its sequel in Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. It features higher-resolution textures, a rearranged soundtrack, and previously Japanese-exclusive content including two games which each take place after X and X-2, respectively.
