Final Fantasy Collection is a Japan-exclusive PlayStation compilation that was released in 1999. It consists of three Final Fantasy games: Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI, all of which are remakes of their original Super Famicom releases. Each game also had a standalone release in Japan.
Although Final Fantasy Collection was never released outside of Japan, its games were included in two compilations, each having two games Final Fantasy Anthology and Final Fantasy Chronicles. The latter included the game Chrono Trigger.
Reception and release[edit]
Fifty-thousand copies were released as a limited edition version of the collection, which included a Final Fantasy-themed alarm clock. Since Final Fantasy Collection's release, Weekly Famitsu gave it a score of 54 out of 60 points, scored by a panel of six reviewers.[1]
Final Fantasy Collection sold over 400,000 copies in 1999, making it the 31st best selling release of that year.[2]
