Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a remake of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, set for release in December 2022.

The game was officially announced in the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration livestream, in June 16, 2022. Reunion features re-recorded voice acting featuring the cast of Final Fantasy VII Remake, a re-arranged soundtrack, and a reworked battle system.

Reunion features an overhauled version of Crisis Core's action-based battle system. For instance, Zack's attacks are able to be linked into combos; Magic and Command Materia can be selected from a Kingdom Hearts-esque "shortcut" menu; and Zack can access a second mode to unleash stronger attacks, as in Cloud's Punisher Mode from Final Fantasy VII Remake.

The Digital Mind Wave slots mechanic returns from the original game, but Limit Breaks and summon attacks can be activated manually at the player's discretion instead of triggering immediately. Some cutscenes that activated during the Digital Mind Wave in Crisis Core have been removed from Reunion to allow a faster pace during battles.

Hard Mode, a high-difficulty mode added to worldwide releases of the original game, is permanently available from the start in all versions of Reunion.
