Axes are a basic weapon which appear in a few Final Fantasy games, and they first appear in Final Fantasy II. Axes are the most basic of the weapon type of the same name. An Axe consists of a heavy, bladed head mounted crosswise on a handle.

History

Final Fantasy II

In Final Fantasy II, Guy starts out wielding an Axe in his right hand as a starter weapon. Axes are also sold in Weapon Shops in Gatrea, Machanon, Paloom, and Poft. In the original Famicom release and PlayStation remake's Hard Mode, Axes cost 500 gil each, but in the PlayStation remake's Easy Mode and subsequent remakes, they cost 100 gil each.
